NEOAHEC partners with EOU's GO STEM program to promote the "STEM Stays Here" philosophy. NEOAHEC's purpose is to grow the future of healthcare professionals in eastern Oregon. Here's a deeper look into student stories and NEOAHEC's mission.

Even though Darren’s pathway to becoming a health care professional didn’t lead him back to eastern Oregon, his success is a great example of his passion for caring for underserved communities and his connection to the ‘grow our own mission’ of NEOAHEC.

Investigators of Science, a STEM exploration day-camp for middle school students held in collaboration between Eastern Oregon University (EOU) and NEOAHEC, held its 21st annual event at the EOU campus on November 4, 2023.

The project began with research on overdose and death rates in rural America and has moved toward providing hands-on training with simulated Narcan and manikins, which gave LGSD employees hands-on practice administering Narcan. Current partners in this project include the LGSD and OHSU School of Nursing, and we are looking to expand this project to other partners in our region.

Scholarships for PMHNP students in eastern Oregon will be available after the new year through an endowment established with the OHSU Foundation by NEOAHEC and the Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization (EOCCO).

To celebrate and bring awareness to rural health, NEOAHEC hosted a photo contest!

HEAL-OR has been offering ECHO and other programming focusing on three clinical areas with significant health disparities throughout rural Oregon: Diabetes, Adult Mental Health, and Long COVID.

People like Alix are why NEOAHEC’s programming is essential to our mission to create access to healthcare everywhere in Oregon.
