2016 Match: 3,105 graduates choose family medicine

Data from the 2016 National Resident Matching Program show a record 3,105 graduating medical students chose family medicine, the seventh year in a row the numbers have increased. Stan Kozakowski, M.D., director of AAFP's Medical Education Division, said the numbers are heartening, but still far too few students are choosing family medicine to meet the nation's needs.
