Why is there a need for the Pre-Health Society?

Students from rural and frontier communities are known to receive less access to high quality preparation for health professions program admissions throughout high school and college. Though health profession schools have increased the number of spaces available for students from these backgrounds, students are usually not provided with adequate resources to be successful applicants. The Pre-Health Society works to provide the necessary resources for rural applicants to be competitive.

Who Can Join?

The Pre-Health Society is for anyone who is within two years of applying to graduate or medical school, with the intention pursuing a career in healthcare in Eastern Oregon. EOU students must be a member of EOU's Pre-Professional Health Club and be in good academic standing to join the Pre-Health Society. Please contact EOU Academic Advisor McKayla Neal at mmceal@eou.edu for more details.
